The art of flirting as seen on 2gether: The Series

Updated: May 20, 2020

According to some relationship experts (*cough-my friends-cough*), flirting is okay as long as both parties are willing participants and mature enough to take naughty banters from each other.

Yes, most people flirt, and boy, a lot of flirting happened in 2gether: The Series. Of course, they made it seem easy on TV, but in real life, it's hard to muster the courage to even talk to your crush.

Don't worry, though, because I've gathered a few pointers from the show that you might find useful when busting a move in front of the current apple of your eye.

Intimidation.

A crucial but effective way to get someone's attention. At first, you'll have to act like you're the meanest person in the world in their presence. This way, you won't prematurely reveal your true feelings towards your crush. However, be careful not to overly offend your crush, or you might end up shooing them away instead of getting a positive outcome.

When in doubt, offer food.

Questions like:

"Have you eaten already?"

"Are you hungry yet?"

"Do you want a snack?"

These are concrete examples that you do care for a person. The best way to get to someone's heart is still through their stomach. And if that person answers "YES" to all the questions above, offer them food as Tine does to Sarawat.

Use social media as your tool.

Probably the oldest trick in the flirting manual that we all use since the rise of social media. If a person suddenly follows you on social and religiously engages in all of your posts, there's a chance that he might be flirting with you. But what are the odds, right? To make it more obvious, follow just one person like Sarawat.

Ask for a selfie.

Your feelings might not be reciprocated, but who cares? You already have a photo with bae, and it's for keeps!

Be a damsel in distress.

And ask him to be your knight in shining armor. Who knows? Bb (baby) might be concerned about you, after all.

Intelligence is sexy.

C'mon, who doesn't like a smart person? This way, you can help out your prospects in their studies. It's a win-win because by doing so, you'll also be spending more time with them.

Take care of his future.

Speaking of helping out with their studies, if you have disposable cash, why not help your bb finance his educational plan. Haha!

Everyday is a good day to propose.

As per Beyonce, "if you like it, then you should have put a ring on it." It's The Queen Bey's words, need I say more? I'll just drop my mic on that.

The pointers above are listed with good intentions. Hopefully, everything goes well and that this list leads you to find your true love and enter a happy relationship.

So, let's see. Flirting is a form of humor that could be a powerful form of social communication, which was apparent in the show. In our society today, it serves as a validation for some people, which is alright. I firmly believe though, that flirting is fine when it's done within the parameters of respect.

Still, the best form of flirting for me is when you genuinely like the person you're flirting with. I hope I get a touché on that.

See you here, 'morrow?
